This alternative to our applicatorless deodorant does not disappoint. We have included Alcohol Free Witch Hazel so as not to sting or burn freshly shaven arm pits. It has antibacterial properties and is an awesome soothing natural astringent, removes excess oil and moisture and reduces razor burn. Fractionated Coconut Oil is utilized to help keep the skin conditioned and soft. The addition of baking soda and arrowroot powder also helps to pull away moisture and neutralize odors. Of course, no deodorant can be complete without a scent. At GHBC we only use therapeutic grade essential oils in our products. We have a great variety of scents to choose from for our spray deodorant.

So, I have noticed that over the past two months I have been making crazy crazy amounts of one of our products. As soon as I restock it, they are all sold out. What is it you ask? Well, I imagine that you have read the title and deduced that it’s our Deodorant Spray. Yes, our deodorant spray has been quite the must have product lately. Honestly, it’s definitely something that I can’t live without! When we first came out with Aluminum Free Deodorant, we made these cute little bars. Sadly, some people had a reaction to them. We believe it was due to the quantity of the baking soda, as BS can be a skin irritant. Many people continue to use these bars and have no skin irritation with them. However, one day I had noticed that my husband had a very mean looking red rash around his armpits. When I questioned him about it he didn’t want to tell me he thought it was due to our deodorant. Oh my, I felt so horribly bad!! I knew that I needed to find something to help the poor guy. In the meantime he tried to use Tom’s and other natural deodorants with absolutely no luck. None of them worked quite as well as our deodorant bar. He began using the bar again. Although it worked by keeping him stink free, it didn’t help his rash. Finally, I had a really nice deodorant spray mix for him to try. After two weeks of use, his rash went away and so did the stink. I was so excited, probably more so than my husband. Now, when people ask if they should use the “bar” or the “spray” I always suggest that they try out the spray first as it is much more gentle on people with sensitive skin.
I do need to start off by saying that a deodorant is NOT the same as an antiperspirant. An antiperspirant works by blocking your pores. This makes you not able to sweat. We are led to believe that sweat is what makes you stink, when in reality what makes you stink is the bacteria that grows under your arm pits. Sweating is actually one of the ways your body rids itself as toxins and regulates its body temperature. Antiperspirants contain ingredients like aluminum and parabens that mimic the effects of estrogen in your body. Aluminum toxicity has been linked to cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease, and other health issues. It has been found that 61% of all breast cancer tumors are located in the upper and outer quadrant of the breast closest to the armpit. Yikes!!
So you must be wondering what is in this wonderful concoction that makes it so popular. Well, for starters we have continued to use Baking Soda and Arrowroot Powder in the product as we had in our deodorant bars. Although baking soda can be a skin irritant, I haven’t heard of anyone having a problem with it in the spray version of our deodorant. Baking soda is an important ingredient as it a great deodorizer. We use this in just the perfect quantity that it is easy on the skin. However, we also utilize Arrowroot Powder. I find that this is much more gentle on the armpits. Did you know that arrowroot has the ability to help draw out toxins? It also helps to draw wetness away from your skin. This product also contains a Alcohol Free Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel has antibacterial properties and is an astringent. This means it removes excess oil & moisture and constricts tissue. Witch Hazel makes an amazing toner, helps heal burns, soothes itchy and irritated skin and cleanses the skin. I love to use Witch Hazel for a slew of things, particularly to help soothe bug bites. (mix a little bit of witch hazel with a few drops of lavender oil and apply to bug bites) We also add Fractionated Coconut Oil to our spray deodorant. FCO is a form of coconut oil that is in a liquid state. This is mostly made up of medium chain triglycerides which is very similar to the skin’s natural sebum. FCO is high in antioxidants and has antibacterial properties. It penetrates the skin deeply to nourish, soften and moisturize. These are all reasons why FCO makes an excellent addition to our spray deodorant. Lastly, we add our essential oil blend. Each of our deodorants contain one or more anti-bacterial Essential Oils that will help to prevent any bacteria from growing and causing odor. Not to mention they smell amazing! We have 7 different scents to choose from. Check out our website for scent choices and try out our newest one…Mellow Yellow. This is my new favorite and works like a charm!
