Our coffee bean eye cream may be small, but it packs a big punch. Filled with Vitamin C rich oils like Organic Rose hip and Pomegranate Seed and boasting Organic Fair Trade Arabica Coffee Infused Olive and Jojoba (both organic) oils, this little jar is sure to help reduce puffiness, dark circles and rid your face of fine lines around the eyes. We've also added skin hydrating butters such as Shea, Illipe, Cocoa and even Coffee Butter! Paired with essential oils like Carrot Seed, which has cell-regenerative properties and other notable essential oils, this is a product you NEED to have!
I was so very lucky (not) to be born with big dark puffy bags under my eyes. Even in my kindergarten school picture it looks like I’m old, tired, and ragged. Unfortunately for my daughter, she was also graced with this problem. (sorry Ali) However, one day I had the bright idea of adding an eye cream to our repertoire. We already had a great Anti-aging night cream but we wanted something a little lighter and softer for the eyes. We wanted something that would help with dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles. So basically, something to help me specifically.
In looking into the best and most effective ingredients for this there were several I knew I wanted to use. After playing around for a while and testing products out on Krystal and myself we opened up the testing to our adoring customers. Turns out the product that was created worked magnificently and one of our customers attested that it worked on her tired, puffy, “I didn’t get any sleep because I have a newborn” eyes. We knew we were on to something and began full production of our eye “cream”.
I start by infusing caffeine rich crushed fair trade organic coffee beans into a mixture of Organic Olive and Organic Jojoba Oils. Did you know that caffeine can tighten skin, fight free radicals, smooth puffiness, and reduce dark eye circles? Seems like the perfect ingredient for an eye cream, doesn’t it? Caffeine increases blood circulation while constricting blood vessels giving the appearance of fresher, younger looking skin and decreasing the puffiness. Topical caffeine has also been shown to protect the skin from sun damage and skin cancer by blocking UVB rays. Not only do we use Coffee Infused Oil, but we actually add Coffee Butter. This butter is comprised of Coffee Bean Oil and Organic Coconut Oil. Since, three is a charm, we also utilize Coffee Essential Oil in this product as well. Coffee EO contains antioxidants, lifts the spirits, energizes your mind. Coffee EO has also been known to help soothe bug bites and bee stings. (hmmmm, this gives me an idea for a different product, HA!) Jojoba Oil is perfect for skin applications as it closely resembles the natural sebum that the skin produces. Olive Oil is a great oil to fight free radicals.
Other notable oils in our eye cream are Rose Hip and Pomegranate. Rose Hip Seed Oil is full of antioxidants, vitamins and essential fatty acids that are known to correct dark spots, reduce scars, and diminish fine lines. It is non greasy, super light and absorbs into the skin very easily. It helps decrease environmental damage, hydrates and soothes the skin. It is extremely effective in maturing skin. You can find Rose Hip Seed Oil in all of our face serums and anti aging night cream. Pomegranate oil helps to reinvigorate skin and fight against free radicals. It penetrates deeply into the skin providing lasting moisture and is used often in acne remedies. It restores the health of the skin aiding in rejuvenation and cellular regeneration which erases the visible signs of aging.
In addition to these oils we use Cocoa, Illipe and Shea butters. Cocoa butter is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin E and is a perfect butter for aging skin. It helps skin elasticity which is why we use it in our “Prego” butter and lotion bar. Shea Butter is high in both Vitamin A and Vitamin E and provides unbelievable moisture and skin protection. Illipe butter is known for it moisturizing and softening properties. It is extremely close to Cocoa butter in composition.
To all the above we mix some more essential oils like Carrot and Rose, both of which have amazing anti aging skin properties. We have some customers who are head over heals in love with this product and I can’t say I blame them. Try it out! You may be pleasantly surprised by how well it works. ~Christine
